Photography Services for Schools & Education

About

As a photographer and educator, I work with schools across Warrington, Cheshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester. As educators, we all share one very clear understanding which lies at the core of improving pupil outcomes: relationships are everything. As a photographer, I work with schools to capture the moments of connection, enrichment and opportunity that document the essential stories at the heart of education.

As an experienced qualified teacher (Subject Lead of Photography), with work in education spanning EYFS to KS5 for almost ten years, I have a wealth of experience in working with staff, students and other stakeholders through schools - so you can be confident that you’re working with a professional who understands your context and needs.

Why employ/contract a professional photographer for your school or MAT?

  • Communicate the essential stories, values and ethos to stakeholders, including parents, prospective parents and the wider community;

  • Cultivate a sense of school/social identity for the benefit of young people and the wider community;

  • Ensures a comprehensive catalogue of images which can be used for the website, prospectuses, social media, local news, year books and around the school.

How I work

It is important that pupils feels comfortable with your school photographer; having worked with young people from Early Years through to Sixth Form, you can be confident that I have the relevant experience for engaging with young people. Often, students may feel apprehensive or a little daunted when a lens is about; it’s my job to make them feel at ease, to help capture those authentic moments that really capture the experiences of your young people within your setting.

I usually start by getting at eye level with students, perceiving the world around them through their eyes; then I quietly observe the activity, engage with games or interactions with younger students, and chat to older teenagers. Once they feel comfortable, then we can capture those visual stories.

To ensure comfortability, contracting or employing a consistent photographer - a familiar face - helps students to feel at ease during shoots.
